It’s amazing what a dropped murder charge can do for your popularity…
Update: The profile’s a fake - see comment below.
On 18 December, the day Tom Stephens was arrested in connection with the Ipswitch murders, he had eight friends on MySpace, according to the Guardian.
Just before Stephens was released on 21 December, his friend count had dwindled to one (and Tom really ain’t picky about who he’s friends with):

Since then, his popularity has soared - just look at him now, he’s got 29 friends:

Actually, looking into it further, it’s a fake.
The last login date on the first screenshot is 19 December, when he was in custody.
According to here:
http://ewanmorgan.co.uk/2006/12/tom-stephens-myspace-page.html
This was his real page, but MySpace pulled it:
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=85784962
The friendID on the other one is 140012523 which implies it was created recently.
Sill, people want to be fake Tom’s friends - which is still a bit bizarre.
